With one of the top selling cook books on Amazon, Celebrity Chef & Author Jake Smollett could easily turn a fun get together into a stampede. This was something I didnt understand untill I tasted his food. I thought "I would risk being trampled for this steak... maybe trade my middle kid for a 7 course meal."
I rarely photograph events, but when I do it's typically large, boisterous, pretentious affair of oil and gas tycoons giving one another cheers over thier last corperate merger, full of boring executives discussing thier boring problems with human resources managers. Not this group. I could not believe I found I didnt want to leave the company of these outstanding members of the Houston community.
